8 Regrets You Had in High School

A lot of people had have regrets about mistakes they've made in high school because of social awkwardness and others. Here are some common regrets:
  1. Caring too much about what other people think.
Come on. Who NEVER thought about what others are thinking about them in high school, especially when it comes to popularity. Who hasn't posted a photo on Instagram or Facebook and wondered for a second how many ‘likes' you'll get? Hands up. I have. People's thoughts change on a regular basis. That means even if somebody does think badly of you at the moment, there is a good chance they will think differently in the near future. So basically, people's thoughts don't really matter.

  2.  Your words.
I don't mean you were in fear of being judged. It's just that sometimes you should've just said whatever that had to be said and things would've turned out differently. But there are many situations where it's extremely difficult not to respond to someone when a person has just pushed your buttons. If it would likely offend someone, don't say it. It's better not to say anything if you have nothing nice to say.
  3. Not studying and preparing earlier for exams.
The cycle goes like this. You ask everyone around you if they studied, hoping they didn't study either. You tell people that you didn't even open the book. You calculate the lowest grade you can possibly get, and it's actually pretty comforting. You tell people that you "don't even care" if you passed or failed this exam because you convinced yourself that this doesn't define how smart you are and that you'll study more for the next one.
  4. Snoozing your alarm clock.
The snooze button is one of life's little luxuries, and it's easy to kid yourself into thinking that all you need is an extra 10 minutes in the sack. It's certainly not helping you get any real rest. Snoozing your alarm clock for 10 minutes until you're sober enough to know how late are you isn't gonna help at all. Especially when you're supposed to get some homework done before school!
  5. Never believing in yourself.
Clic but it's true. Being scared and frozen and not doing things that you wanted to do because you were being too scared of living. You know you're capable of doing it but in the end you panicked and thought you were never good enough and having that inferiority towards yourself led you to be constantly stuck in that shell of yours. Sometimes, it's best to just YOLO.

  6. Not making the first move.
Again, it voices down to being afraid of what people would think of you or getting caught up with other ‘important' stuff. If you want to join the athletics team, just make time and go up to the coach to sign yourself up. Or maybe if it's a girl/boy you liked for 5 years, why not give it a try and make a move? Take the initiative to start and if it's meant to happen, it will happen. Just don't harp over it if it didn't turn out the way you expected it to be.
  7. Holding grudges.
You only have one life to live, so why would you spend it holding grudges against some silly matter? Mean is mean no matter who you are. You're not going to see these people after you're dead. You probably won't even see them in a year from now. Live your life without any hatred or grudges or jealousy and it's gonna make life better and easier.
  8. Getting caught up in silly school dramas.
Those were the days when I-don't-"friend"-her/him-anymore was heard. If you hear your friends gossiping about or making fun of someone, try standing up for them, and tell your friends to stop being mean. If they continue to gossip or make fun of this person walk away and don't get involved.
